"Guess How Much I Love You" by Sam McBratney

I love this children's book for various reasons. This book was shared with me in my late teens when a good friend had a baby and I was closely exposed to motherhood and infancy, and  I observed how strong a mother's love is no matter what the "outside" circumstances may be. I then bought this book when I was pregnant with my first child, and continued to read it to both my children. This book has always connected me to experiences of unconditional love. Also, as a teacher it brings in a reminder in the classroom that a child has someone that loves them...

  2. Some people would say you will not know that your mum's love to you is unconditional until you have your own baby, however, I realized it when my grandma died 10 years ago. All of the sudden, I started to tell myself that I need to cherish the time with my parents, as they will leave me some day. As a teacher, we need to be caring and to care about the children in our class unconditionally as well, since we know that there is someone loves them, and does not want to see them be hurt.

  3. “Guess How Much I Love You”, will be the next book that I add to my library. As an educator I feel that it is not only my responsibility to educate our youth but to also show them unconditional love and genuine concern for their well being. It’s sad to say but in the world today there are many kids that don’t get unconditional love at home and if in some aspect they feel that at school I believe it will give them the encouragement they need to thrive.
