This is hard for me to decide. I have pondered similar what
if scenarios and I’d come to the conclusion that my children, family and
animals would be all I would gather and take. Yet if their were three small
material items that I would bring it could range from a photograph(s), birth
certificates, my wedding ring, a favorite blanket or jacket… Other than that I
really do not have any small items that I would need. Unless they are for
specific reasons, material keepsakes or survival? Therefore I will choose yet are not
limited, my mind could change over time.
Three small items I would bring:
Family photograph
Wedding ring
Favorite blanket
v
A family photograph to hold close or to share or
if I were to get separated from my children they could take it.
v
My wedding ring because I simply do not go
without it and it is a material representation of my marriage and family unit.
v
A favorite blanket, because it would help me
feel secure and safe and I can share it with my family. (I have a plan to make
a family quilt and if this were completed I would in fact choose that blanket J)
I think all of the items you chose represent family and unity. I carry those same values when it comes to my family and I am much like you. As long as I have my husband, my child, and my family pets then I can make it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteHi Cassie,
ReplyDeleteI would definitely take my photos with me. Photos mean so much, especially as you look back at family who made an impact in your life, and they're no longer with us. I totally agree that as long as I have my immediate family I would be fine.
I also had problems thinking of material things to bring with me. We own a lot of things, but they can all really be replaced. What cannot be replaced is my family members. I also have plans to make a family heirloom quilt. I was the last one to use a baby blanket that had been passed down for a few generations; it was in a box that was lost when we moved when I was a teenager. Maybe after that is completed I will include that in my list of three. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteCassie, It seems every blog that I read about this week, they have chosen the photo album for one of their items. You and I have similar thoughts on what we feel is our 3 important items. I feel that we can not replace items especially the ones that you listed. How would you feel if you could only bring one item? I feel that as long as I have my family in my life always, no material items matter to have. Thanks for your post! Looking forward to reading more as our class continues!! - Brittany
